You Brighten my Day

Happiest of Mondays to everyone! Thanks for stopping by.

I’m back today with a CAS (Clean and Simple) card today featuring an adorable groundhog from the Groundhog Garden Stamp set.

To start my card, I created a mask for an A2 size card panel using one of the circles from the Double Dot Circle Framelets. I cut one circle from an A2 size panel and used the negative to create a mask.

I adhered the mask to a piece of 110 lb cardstock using some purple tape to keep it in place.

Next, I cut the clouds from the Dare 2B Artzy Land & Clouds slimline borders with some scrap paper. I placed the die cut clouds over my masked stencil and ink blended the clouds in the sky within my masked circle. I created some different looking clouds by moving the scrap of die cut paper back and forth to change positions and create different cloud silhouettes.

To create the ground, I used one of the Curved Slimline Border dies and cut another piece of scrap cardstock. Once again, I used the negative side of the die cut piece to ink blend a small piece of ground at the bottom of the masked circle.

I added some dots of alcohol ink with my Copic Markers to add a bit of color variation and dimension to the ground.

Before I removed the circle mask, I took some more of the blue ink and ink blended around the sides of the circle to the ground to bring the background scene together.

I colored the cute little groundhog holding the flower using my Artify alcohol markers and cut it out. I also colored two of the flowers from the Hippity Hoppity Stamp set and die cut them out.

For the sentiment, I stamped the You Brighten my Day from the Well Wishes Stamp set using some embossing ink. I heat set it with some Hero Arts Tiger Lilly embossing powder.

I ended up cutting down my panel by 1/16 on all sides and adhered it to a top folding A2 size top folding card panel.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my CAS card today. For your convenience, I have listed the products I have used in today’s card below.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderfully, crafty day!

Hugs,

Tonya
