A Halloween Card featuring Midnight the Kitty

Hi!

I shared a sneak peek of this card last week but it’s just so cute that I couldn’t wait any longer to share it with you.

This stamp is called Midnight the Halloween Kitten by artist Stacy Yacula who is one of the featured artists on Purple Onion Designs.  The stamps are unmounted, but there are so many cute designs to choose from they’re hard to resist. I learned of Purple Onion Designs stamp company from the amazing Sandy Allnock who featured this same kitty stamp in one of her Copic video tutorials where she showed how she colored the kitten as a Calico and then colored an entire background scene. It was so cute, I wanted to create my own Calico kitty it and put it on my own Halloween card.

To put this card together, I began by coloring the stamp with Copic markers to create a Calico kitten and fussy cutting it out. I added a little Wink of Stella sparkle to the ribbon on the hat and the bow around the kitten’s neck.

Next I die cut a large circle and used Distress Inks to create a giant orange-yellowish looking full moon. Using my eBrush I created a dark purple looking night sky for my backdrop for my moon.

I used an adorable fence die cut from La-La Land Crafts called Picket Fence and cut two from some white cardstock and glued them together.

Then I used the grassy border from Lawn Fawn and cut two borders using two different shades of green cardstock. I layered the lighter shade of green grass in front of the fence and the darker shade behind it so that it would appear to be in shadow.

Next, I used the two pumpkin stamps from the Mama Elephant Meowlloween stamp set again and created several pumpkins to sit in front of my fence and fussy cut them out after I colored them with my Copics.

Finally, I assembled everything and added my adorable kitty, Midnight to the fence with my giant full moon as the backdrop so it appears she’s crooning on the fence in the moonlight. I used the sentiment stamp from Mama Elephant’s Meowlloween Extras stamp set and stamped it inside my full moon. Here’s the finished card:

I just love this card! Eeek! The kitten just makes the card. I ordered a couple more stamps from Purple Onion Designs, I can’t wait to get them and put them on some fall cards I have planned as well. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite online stamp shops.

Hope you enjoyed this card! If so, please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions on my blog. You can also follow me on Bloglovin so you don’t miss any of my blog posts.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a crafty week!
