Sweet Wishes with the new Simply Tea-riffic

Hello and welcome, crafty friends!

Today I’m excited to share the August Clubhouse Stamp & Die Set from Dare 2B Artzy!

This adorable set, SIMPLY Tea-riffic, coordinates perfectly with the latest Dare 2B Artzy release, the Teapots & Tiny Tales Collection. The August Clubhouse set features a whimsical teapot surrounded by the sweetest little treats, making it perfect for creating a fun and cheerful card.

When I first saw this set, it immediately reminded me of Candy Land—a game I’ve actually never played, LOL! I knew I wanted to play up that feeling by coloring the images in soft, pastel colors.

While this set could certainly be used to create some adorable holiday cards, I thought using a pastel color palette would give it a completely different look and feel. I love how bright, sweet, and non-holiday this card turned out!

Coloring the Images

I stamped all of the images onto 120 lb. cardstock and colored them with my Copic markers. I kept my color palette fairly simple and used just a handful of markers. I find that limiting my color choices makes coloring detailed images much easier and helps everything coordinate beautifully.

Once all of the images were colored, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Creating the Card Base

Next, I pulled out one of my favorite fun-fold dies—the Horizontal Center Step Die. I love this die because it creates a ready-to-use card base and includes all of the pieces you need for layering and embellishing.

I die cut the card base from 100 lb. aqua cardstock.

For the center panel, I cut the scalloped piece from the snowflake pattern on the back of the Santa’s Teapot Express paper.

I cut the two side panels and the front sentiment backer from the pretty pink plaid paper found in the 6×6 Festive Prints Paper Pack.

The plaid was a little bolder than I wanted, so I decided to soften it with vellum. I die cut the same three pieces from vellum and used my Xyron Sticker Maker to add adhesive to the back. I then placed the vellum over the plaid pieces and burnished them well to make sure everything was securely adhered.

Adding the Details

I added my adorable colored teapot to the center scalloped snowflake panel and popped it up with dimensional foam. The plaid side panels and bottom sentiment backer were then adhered to the card base with liquid glue.

For the side panels, I added some of the sweet shortbread cookies and candies I had colored earlier. They look so cute against the soft pink plaid background!

For the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed “Sweet Wishes” from the Teapot to Yours stamp set. I die cut the sentiment using the flag die included with the SIMPLY Tea-riffic Die Set and popped it up along the bottom of the card with dimensional foam.

I also tucked the last colored candy cane behind the sentiment for one more fun little detail.

A Little Sparkle

Of course, no Candy Land-inspired card would be complete without a little sparkle!

I used a Gelly Roll Stardust pen to add shimmery details throughout the card and glued a few tiny iridescent gems to the centers of the candies. These little touches add just the right amount of sparkle and really help bring that sweet Candy Land feeling to life.

I think this card would be perfect for a birthday, a special celebration, or simply sending a bright and cheerful hello to someone special.

I hope this inspires you to look at your holiday-themed supplies in a different way and use them to create some fun non-holiday cards too! A change in color palette can completely transform the feel of a collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by and spending a little crafty time with me today! I’ll have all of the products I used to create this card listed and linked below.

Hugs,
