Santa’s Reindeer Winter Scene Card
Hello Artzy Friends!
Have you checked out the Dare 2B Artzy Instagram HOP with all of the amazing new products for winter and Christmas? All I can say is that the design team really created some wonderful projects with all of the fun new products.
Today I am sharing the card I created with the adorable new stamp set called Santa’s Reindeer. This stamp set is just too cute. I love the adorable reindeer and the jolly Santa Claus.
I knew I had to create a scene card with this set. Let’s dive into the details for my first Christmas Card for 2022!
To start my scene, I used the Make Waves hot foil plate and used a piece of the new 6×6 card stock set with the snowflake pattern and hot foiled it with a light blue opaque foil. The foil was sheer enough that you can see the beautiful snowflake pattern through the foiled areas. (NOTE: I didn’t realize that Spellbinders doesn’t carry this foil any longer. I will link to another opaque hot foil that would work for this project below.)
The new Dare 2B Artzy 6×6 paper pack features 12 pieces of 6×6 paper pack from the newest holiday release. The pack also has several colorful, pre-printed tag images to create some quick and easy holiday tags. I highly recommend this paper pack. BONUS is that it’s smooth enough paper to use with your hot foil dies.
Once my paper was foiled, I cut the waves into sections to create snowdrifts. To add a little stability to my snowdrifts, I traced them onto some 110 lb card stock and fussy cut the traced sections and glued them to the back of the foiled snowdrifts. I added a touch of ink blending to my snowdrifts to give it a bit of added shading.
Next, I pulled a piece of turquoise card stock from my stash and foiled it using some iridescent sparkly foil and the Dare 2B Artzy Night Sky hot foil plate. This hot foil plate is easily on of my favorites in the Dare 2B Artzy hot foil plates.
I cut the foiled Night Sky down using the Rectangle Framelets and added a bit of ink blending around the edges to give it more of a night sky feeling.
I added my foiled snowdrifts to the background with some dimensional foam. I had to trim off the edges a bit so that they would not be hanging over the background. I used a Jelly Roll Stardust pen and went over a few of the snowflakes with the pen to give a bit of added sparkle and create the glistening snow effect.
Finally, I stamped and colored the Santa, the two reindeer and the toy bag from the set onto some Neenah 110 lb card stock. I also stamped the North Pole sign from the Naughty or Nice stamp set which was one of last years Christmas stamps. I thought that the sign worked perfectly for my scene. I think the sled from the Naughty or Nice set would work well with the new Santa’s Reindeer also – I’ll need to try that on another card.
I colored all of my images with my Copic markers and die cut them using the coordinating die sets from both stamp sets.
Once all of my images were positioned on my card panel, I adhered them with a combination of Bearly Arts liquid glue and dimensional foam where needed to level images out from behind.
On the toy sack, I had a tiny little bow die cut from my stash and it was just so cute, I couldn’t resist cutting it from some black glitter card stock and adding it to the toy sack. It’s a fun little added touch.
I used an Aqua Shimmer pen on my reindeer’s nose, the scarves, the trim on Santa’s suit and hat and finally on the North Pole sign.
For my sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed the HO HO HO from the Santa’s Reindeer set and die cut it with a stitched tag die from the Rectangle Framelets die set. I carefully trimmed the end of the tag piece off to make it fit better on my card panel.
I added my panel to a top folding A2 size card base made from 110 lb Neenah cardstock.
On the inside of my card, I stamped Have a Holly Jolly Christmas.
That finished my card featuring the new Santas Reindeer stamp and die set. Hope you’ve enjoyed my card and are inspired to create your own scene cards with this fun new stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy.
