Ice Cream Heaven with Dare 2B Artzy
Howdy Dare 2B Artzy friends! I’m popping in today to share my latest card with Dare 2B Artzy.
I have to say that when I first saw the Rocky Road stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy, I giggled out loud. I love, love, love the little guy in this stamp set so much. I just wanted to hug him. He reminds me of my hubby, who loves ice cream. I can picture my hubby looking a lot like this, standing outside the ice cream shop, hat on backwards, enjoying his scoop (or two) of some great ice cream. Not a care in the world.
Our favorite ice cream shop in the Colorado area serves, Italian Gelato. OMG, is it tasty and so smooth and creamy (and actually has less sugar & calories than regular ice cream). If you’re ever in the Boulder area, look up Glacier Ice Cream – you won’t regret it!
I’m a fan of quick and easy cards and my card today card was really simple to create.
I started off my project by stamping the little ice cream guy with some black ink. There isn’t a die set available for this stamp, but I was able to cut it out pretty well with my Brother Scan N Cut machine.
Next, I used my Copic markers and colored him with some bright blue and orange, leaving his tennis shoes kind of neutral and then giving his balloon a nice pop of green.
Once, I’d finished coloring him it was just a matter of selecting some bright summer type papers to use for the background. I pulled an orange cardstock and a bright yellow striped cardstock giving them some dimension with some foam in between the layers.
I used the “Summer Days and Ice Cream Cones…as close to Heaven as it gets” sentiment from the same stamp set. This sentiment pretty much sums it up. Although it’s not officially summer yet, we’ve had several 80 degree days and it’s already feeling like summer is here.
I stamped the sentiment on some white cardstock with some embossing ink and heat embossed it with some orange embossing powder.
I added a strip of the striped edge of the D2BA Artzy Doodles paper to kind of give it that ice cream shop feel.
For a finishing touch, I glued several sequins onto my card front for some sparkle and added dimension.
Such a fun card! It just makes me antsy for my summer vacation and ice cream with my hubby.
Hope you enjoyed my card today as much as I did creating it. Thanks for stopping by the blog today. Be sure to check out the entire line of Dare 2B Artzy stamps, papers and inks in the store.
Wishing you a wonderfully crafty rest of the week!
