Groovy Wishes

Hello crafty friends!

I hope you are having a wonderful start to your day! I am back today with another card featuring products from Dare 2B Artzy.

Today, I pulled out a bunch of stamps from the latest Dare 2B Artzy “Feelin Groovy” Release and stamped and colored several images.  I love that these images take me back to my childhood. I loved to roller skate – that’s actually how I broke my arm when I was about 11 years old. I also had a Lava Lamp but it was a bit later than the 70’s when they were revived by Spencer’s Gifts Stores.

I colored the Roller Skate and the Lava lamp from the Good Times Roll stamp set and the sun from the Here Comes the Sun stamp set and finally I colored a few of the flowers from the Groovy Van stamp set.

Each image was stamped with Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink onto 110lb Neenah Solar White Cardstock using the MISTI Stamping tool.

I colored up each of the images using my OLO Markers keeping the colors bright and cheerful using orange, yellow and teal as my primary colors.

Once my coloring was complete, I used the coordinating die to cut each of the images out.

For the Sun image, I stamped each sun ray color using Dare 2B Artzy inks in Blue Sky, Margarita Lime, Sunset Yellow, Bright Pumpkin and Paradise Teal. For each ray, I masked off the other portions of the sun using a Post-it note and just stamped the single color. I cleaned off the stamp and replaced the masks after stamping each section. I love the different color rays coming off the sun, such a fun look. Wouldn’t it be fun if our sun was multi-colored? Once I’d finished stamping and masking, I cut the sun face and the sun rays out using the coordinating dies.

For the background, I used the Square Framelets dies from Dare 2B Artzy and cut out some of the Stay Wild paper (pink floral) and the Peace & Love paper (yellow floral) along with some plain cardstock and a piece of yellow iridescent foil cardstock.

I layered up the cut cardstock onto a slimline card base using dimensional foam to give it added dimension. I added the yellow iridescent cardstock behind the sun so that it would peek out which adds a bit of shimmer and shine without being overpowering.

Finally, all the colored images were added to the card base with dimensional foam.

To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment Groovy Wishes onto the flag banner die included in the Good Times Roll die set and placed it in the center of the card on the sun.

For a bit of embellishment, I added some teal pearls to the card with some liquid glue. I also used a Gelly Roll Shimmer Pen to add some sparkle to the sun rays as well as the center of the wheels on the skate and the small heart in the lava lamp.

That finished my card for today. The bright, cheerful images on this card make me smile and I hope it makes you smile too!

Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Tonya
