June Challenge with Dare 2B Artzy

Hi everyone! I’m back today to play along in a brand-new card challenge over on the Dare 2B Artzy Blog. It’s the first Sunday in June and Dare 2B Artzy’s challenge theme this month is Masculine.

I always struggle to make masculine cards, however this one came together easy.

To start I used the Triangle Accent hot foil plate and foiled a piece of cardstock that was a bit larger than A2 size. For this panel I tested out a new paper for foiling called Hamilco and I’m happy to say that it foiled beautifully. Using a dark navy Copic Marker, I colored a few of the foiled triangles.

Once my cardstock was foiled with the matte gold foil, I used the largest Rectangle Framelets die to cut it to A2 size.

Next, using another piece of the new Hamilco paper; I stamped and colored the cute bear with the honey pot from the Honey Bears stamp set. I wasn’t sure this was necessarily a masculine bear, but I think I colored it to look like a masculine bear using some darker shades of green and blue. For the honey on the bear’s paw and face as well as the Honey Pot I used some golden yellows with a darker yellow for shading and then I used some Glossy Accents on the honey to give it a shine and make it look realistic. I love that look. I also stamped and colored two of the tiny bees from the stamp set.

Using the Double Dot Circle framelets dies, I cut a larger circle with some dark navy cardstock from my stash and then cut the smaller inner circle using the new Field of Hope paper.

I popped all my elements up with a bit of dimensional foam onto the foiled triangle panel.

Finally, I finished the card with the stamped the sentiment Bear Hugs and die cut it with a rectangle strip from the Center Step die set.
