Cozy Critters & Coffee Please

Hey everyone! I’m popping in today with a fun card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop going on from Friday, November 12th through Friday, November 19th over on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog which you can find here. Who doesn’t love the opportunity to hop along with your fellow paper crafters and card makers who also share a love of the coffee bean and a great cup of joe?! So much fun and lots of great coffee cards and inspiration.

I couldn’t resist the adorable Cozy Critters stamp set from Pink and Main stamps. This stamp came out earlier this fall and the critters in this set are so adorable. I knew when I saw the cute little squirrel with his gigantic cup of coffee that I wanted to give him some next level coffee (he’s going from a Grande to a Trenta in my card today, LOL!).

To start I stamped the bear, squirrel and the bunny onto some 110lb Neenah Classic Crest cardstock with some Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black Ink.

I colored each of the critters with my Copic markers giving them some colorful scarfs and earmuffs for the cool autumn days. I added some polkadot details with a white Jelly Roll pen. When I was finished, I used the matching Cozy Critter dies to cut out the critters and set them aside.

To create my background for my card I cut another piece of 110lb cardstock to 5 3/8 x 3. I used the Honey Bee Stamps Scattered Leaves layering stencil and ink blended on some Bundled Sage Distress Ink.

Once I’d finished the ink blending, I took a scrap piece of tan/cream cardstock and used a wood plank embossing folder from my stash and ran it through my die cutting machine with my embossing mat.

Next, I took my embossed paper and lightly ran the Walnut Distress Ink pad across the surface of the paper to give it the appearance of woodgrain. I cut a small strip of the embossed paper and placed it at the bottom of my ink blended background to create a bit of texture in my backgtound.

Using the large coffee cup tag from the 2020 Trinity Stamps Mini Tag Collection Die set, I cut a piece of white cardstock to create a little coffee cup with the little band around it. For the band, I used a scrap piece of brown cardstock. I glued the piece of the coffee cup tag together with some liquid glue. Next, I found a small circle die in my stash and cut a little green circle and glued it on the front of the cup to represent the most recognizable coffee shop brand.

To give my cute little squirrel a bit more zip in his step, I fussy cut the stamped coffee cup out leaving only the squirrel. I positioned in the new die cut coffee cup tag and glued the little squirrel’s arm to the front of the cup. I think he looks so cute holding that giant cup of coffee. He looks so happy don’t you think?

All of my critters were added to the card front with some dimensional foam.

I used a Jelly Roll Stardust pen to add some subtle sparkle to the critters scarves and a little on the outside of the circle on the front of my coffee cup.

My panel was matted to a mini-slimline card base with some dark green cardstock behind it.

For my sentiment, I stamped the sentiment, “Wishing you everything nice, with a dash of Pumpkin Spice” using some Versamark ink and heat set it with some Hero Arts detail white embossing powder onto some dark green cardstock.

That finishes up my card for today. I love how this turned out. The Pink and Main Cozy Critters stamp set and the Trinity Stamps Mini Tags paired well to create this fun min slimline card.

Thank you for stopping by! All of the products used in today’s card are listed below for your convenience. Enjoy all of the fun coffee themed cards along the hop!

Hugs,

Tonya
