Dare 2B Artzy Fall Challenge

Happy Fall everyone! Dare 2B Artzy is kicking off October with a new challenge.

This months theme is FALL! Whoo-hoo! My favorite season!

I’m excited to share my card for the October challenge today.

I created a square card for this challenge that measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

My card was super easy to put together with the help of the Dare 2B Artzy scrapbook paper called Fall Harvest and the coordinating leaf dies.

I started by cutting several of the leaves from one piece of the scrapbook paper. I actually have lots of leftover leaves which I saved for another card.

The coordinating dies cut the leaves perfectly so that there’s no white space around them.

I selected 3 of the leaves. I wanted to add a bit of texture to them so I inked them up with Versamark ink and added some clear embossing powder. This gave the leaves a nice texture and shiny finish. For my second layer, I actually sprinkled in several different embossing powders in copper, gold, a touch of a raspberry and some sparkly golden glitter powders. I heat set them once again. I think this just added to the overall beauty of the leaves.

To create my sentiment panel, I cut a piece of white cardstock that measured 4 x 4. I ran my Versamark pad along the top edge of the cardstock and added some gold embossing powder. Once that was heat set I went back in with my Versamark pad and added in more streaks of the sticky ink and then covered it in copper embossing powder. This is a great technique for adding texture to your cards. I think it gives it a nice fall feel.

Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Dare 2B Artzy Tangle Leaves stamp set and heat set it with the same gold embossing powder.

To create my little border of leaves at the bottom, I cut the border edge off of the peice of the Fall Harvest paper and added it to the bottom of the panel with some double sided adhesive.

To assemble my card, I added the blue plaid piece of Fall Harvest paper to my card base with double sided adhesive.

I added my sentiment panel on top with some foam tape to add some dimension.

Finally I added my die cut leaves with some dimensional foam on top.

As a finishing touch, I added some pearls to my card front.
