Anything Goes August!
Hello and happiest of Sunday’s to you! It’s the first weekend in August and you know what that means? It’s the start of a new monthly challenge over at Dare 2B Artzy. The theme for this month’s challenge is Anything Goes!
I decided to take advantage of the theme and create another Christmas card featuring some awesome Dare 2B Artzy stamps.
To start I cut a piece of 110lb white cardstock to 4 ½ x 5 ½. I used the branch from the Dare 2B Artzy Totally Tracy stamp set called Holiday Magic. I added the stamp to a square stamp block. I grabbed 3 different shades of green ink and began stamping the branch around the edge of the cardstock. I alternated the different ink colors and filled in the blank spaces to make it appear fuller.
Next, I grabbed the little dot stamps from the Dare 2B Artzy, Playful Posies Layered stamp set. These dots make great berry clusters for wreaths. I used some red ink and stamped around the greenery on the card front to add in the little berries. Once I was done adding the berries, I used some Ranger Glossy Accents and added it to all of the berries and let it sit overnight to dry. The Glossy Accents adds a bit of shine and dimension to the card. I also used some inexpensive metallic paint markers that I found at Target and added some silver and green dots for various interest and just a bit of shimmer.
For the sentiment, I used the Totally Tracy Holly Xmas sentiment “The Gift Of” and “Peace”. I lined the sentiment up using my MISTI to ensure that it would be stamped straight onto my card front. Once it was aligned, I stamped with some Versamark ink and used some Ruby Red Glitter embossing powder and heat set it. I think the red, sparkle of the embossing powder really pulls the red berries in nicely on the card.
To finish up the card, I added some dimensional foam to the back of the stamped panel and then added a Christmas ribbon and tied the bow on the front of the card.
I cut a piece of green mirrored cardstock and placed my stamped pane on top of it and then cut a piece of the Dare 2B Artzy Winter Plaid cardstock and adhered it to a top folding white card base that measured 6 x 4 ½.
That’s my card for the Dare 2B Artzy Anything Goes Challenge. Please click over to the Dare 2B Artzy blog here and check out what the other Design Team members have created for this challenge.
