We’ve combined the awesome Dare 2B Artzy stamps and inks with Canvas Corp Brands which includes some amazing scrapbook papers,  Tattered Angels sheer color sprays and glimmer mists, 7 Gypsies vintage and retro findings and of course a multitude of various canvas items and bling to create some amazing projects.

Today, my project features the new Dare 2B Artzy stamp set Flip Flops. I received several Canvas Corp papers from the Mixology set which features pictures of mixed drinks and some crazy fun sentiments. I’ve combined that with the cute little canvas ticking bag in black, a hot pink burlap flower and some burlap fabric.

Goodies Received

I was really excited to play with the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. The sprays I received were Sun Sisters which is a lighter yellow color and Vintage Pink which is a nice light pink. I’d had a bottle of Glimmer Mist that I’d purchased about 5 years ago and it’s a clear Dazzling Diamond with a sort of iridescent glimmer which is pretty, but wowza these new colors of Glimmer Mists are awesome! I’m surprised, I didn’t try it on my walls in my craft room – I really fell in love with the colors. I MUST have more!!

To start off my project, I used Dare 2B Artzy ink in Paradise and lightly dragged the ink along the front of the canvas bag to provide a distressed colored look. I added a bit of Sunset Yellow in a couple of places, but I kept it to a minimum as I didn’t want them to blend into a green.

I created two tags from the Mixology Paper which comes in a black and white so you can color with markers or sponge on ink. I lightly sponged on some Dare 2B Artzy inks in Paradise, Sunset Yellow and Bright Pumpkin.

Next, I used my yellow Tattered Angels and uncapped it and tapped it against my finger to splatter it across my tag to give it some shimmery spots which are so pretty. I also added some to the front of my canvas bag and set it aside to dry.

I clipped the tags together with one of the red clothespins and added some gems to it in blue. I glued the clothespin to the front of the bag.

To add a focal point to the front of the bag, I used the yellow strip of burlap fabric and folded it onto itself in a figure 8 and glued the layers together with my hot glue gun. I then took the bright pink burlap flower and added a metal brad with flowers on to give the flower a center with some texture.  Then I glued it in place on top of my yellow burlap and glued the whole thing down to the front of my cavass bag.  I love the bright pink flower as it really adds a lot of texture and interest to the front of the bag.

With the Mixology papers that I received, I also received some of the blank black & ivory recipe card 12 x 12 paper. You could totally use a whole sheet to make a cool scrapbook page, but I chose to cut down the cards to make 6 cards from each piece of 12 x 12 paper. All of the Canvas Corp papers are nice and really thick, they’re perfect for any kind of mixed media project and they hold up well.

Once my recipe cards were cut apart, I began stamping, stenciling, splattering, coloring. I tried to do something different for each card. I stamped some with the Dare 2B Artzy Flip Flops fruit and glass and colored with my Copics.  On a few others I used some stencils and sprayed the Tattered Angels. I really loved the color I got when the yellow mixed with the pink and I got a subtle coral-orange color. The Tattered Angels sprays work amazingly well with stencils. It’s very pretty in person and it’s pretty cool to spray it on or sprinkle it and watch as it seeps into the paper and leaves a beautiful shimmer. On a few of the cards, I cut out a few of the fun sentiments from the Mixology papers and added them to my recipe cards. On one of the cards I used some Kuretaki Zig Clean color brushes and mixed together some browns on my craft mat and added some water and took a Solo cup and put the bottom of the cup into the colored water and stamped it onto my card to make cup rings.  I did create two cards which I left blank, as I figured if it were a gift the recipient might want to add their own recipe to the cards. Once I was finished decorating each recipe card, I added fun tropical adult drink recipes to each one. I bound them together with a binder ring by punching a small hole in each corner of the recipe cards and tied a piece of twine to it.

When I was finished with my cards, I went back to my canvas bag. The back of the bag didn’t have the ticking stripes on it so I knew I wanted to decorate it. I started out by stamping the drink and fruit from the Flip Flops stamp set with my various Dare 2B Artsy inks.  Once I had everything stamped I decided to color in the stamped images with my Spectrum Noir markers. I pulled from the color scheme of the front of the bag with the pink and yellow and added in some green and orange.  Since I’d never tried coloring with alcohol markers on canvas, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It did bleed a bit, but once I realized that I colored leaving small gaps between the lines of the stamped images and that helped account for the bleed. Once all of the images were colored, I added the cute little “hello” sentiment stamp from the Dare 2B Artzy Perk Up stamp set in areas that were blank.

After everything dried, I sprayed some of the Tattered Angles Sun Sisters across the entire back of the bag to add a bit of shimmer. Then I used the Vintage Pink and splattered specks of pink on the back as well.

The cards fit perfectly inside my canvas bag and the set would make an awesome gift for a girlfriend on girls’ night out or for a bachelorette party gift.
