Dare 2B Artzy April Challenge

Hello! Happy Easter to everyone! Hope you are enjoying some much needed time with family and maybe friends this year for Easter. At the very least, I hope everyone is enjoying some nice weather. It has been gorgeous here in Colorado the past few days with temps in the 70’s. Perfect for getting out and enjoying some sunshine which always makes me feel better.

Hard to believe that we’re already entering April, but here we are! As always Dare 2B Artzy starts a new card making challenge on the first Sunday of each month. This month’s challenge theme is Bright Colors!

My card for this month’s challenge features the yummy looking Strawberry Vine stamp set. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been craving some yummy, ripe strawberries. This fun 6 x 8 stamp set features the gorgeous strawberry vine which is perfect for slimline cards but can also be used with A2 cards as I will demonstrate today. The stamp set features some individual strawberries as well as numerous sentiments and a little scalloped sentiment frame. There is also a coordinating die for this set.

For my card, I did a little no line coloring using my Zig Clean Color Markers on some Bristol Smooth Cardstock. The image was stamped using some Gina K Amalgam Ink in Whisper which is a very light tan color. Each strawberry, flower and leaf were colored and then I used the Zig clear blending brush to blend the colors.

Once my coloring was finished, I die cut the vine with the coordinating die set.

For my sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed, “A Sweet Friendship Refreshes the Soul” with some Hero Arts Forget me Not blue embossing powder.

I die cut the sentiment using the little square from the Strawberry Vine die set. I also die cut a second square from some iridescent cardstock and adhered the two together with a bit of an offset.

My card base was created with the Dare 2B Artzy Trellis Die which was cut from some bright yellow cardstock. I layered a piece of sky blue shimmer cardstock behind the trellis. I think it makes a perfect backdrop for the strawberry vine.

My card panel was adhered to an A2 size card base made from some 110 lb cardstock with some dimensional foam and I added the colored strawberry vine and sentiment to the front of the panel with some additional dimensional foam.

For a touch of sparkle I used a Gelly Roll Moonstone shimmer pen for the center of the little yellow flowers. I also added some light blue gems to the card panel with some liquid glue.

That completes my card today for the Dare 2B Artzy Bright Colors Challenge. Be sure to check out the Dare 2B Artzy Blog today for some additional inspiration and make sure to link your card projects throughout the month as there is a chance to win a Gift Certificate.

I’ll be back next week with another fun Dare 2B Artzy card project.

Tonya
