Halloween Cozy Toes
Hello and welcome back! Happy Halloween! I don’t know about you but I love Halloween. I love all of the decorations, seeing the different costumes, watching not-too-scary movies. It is all just so much fun!
I have a video for this card over on my YouTube channel that you can check out here:https://youtu.be/_uxp7UnWiIM
Today I have another Halloween card to share. This one features the Spellbinders October Large Die of the Month called Cozy Toes. I have seen so many adorable Christmas cards and gift tags made with this set but I decided I would take take it in a spooky direction for Halloween.
All of the dies were cut from paper scraps I had leftover. It is great to use up those leftovers with the scene building dies that Spellbinders creates. The beauty of the Spellbinders dies is that they often leave an embossed impression in the cardstock indicating where to layer and glue the other die cut pieces. It makes it very easy to put together which I love. Plus it’s helpful to refer to the packaging in case you have a mystery die that you can’t identify. I always keep my packaging for Spellbinders.
Once everything was cut out, I used some Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade to add a bit of shading to the pajama pants. I added a little bit of shading to the base of the slipper and the monster toes with Mowed Lawn. For the ankle part of the cardstock that you can see, I wanted to give it a skin tone so I used a small amount of Tattered Rose blended in from the sides.
I gave my monster feet slippers some sparkly purple toes, because who doesn’t love some sparkly purple toes??
After the ink blending and shading was done, I glued all of the pieces together to create two pajama legs with the cutest monster slippers. I cannot get over how cute they are! EEK!
To build my background, I embossed a peice of kraft cardstock with a woodgrain embossing folder. I used my Walnut Stain Distress Ink and swiped it across the wood grain to make it look like a dark wood floor.

I picked out some Halloween themed striped wallpaper and added a layer of vellum over it to tone it down. I adhered my wood grain floor at the bottom of the background and added a little strip of orange and black checkered cardstock just above that to create a baseboard.
I added my legs to the left of the center, popping up the top leg that is crossed over with a bit of dimensional foam.
For the sentiment, I used the Hocus Pocus stamp set from Honeybee Stamps and I stamped and clear heat embossed the Eat Drink and Be Scary sentiment and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I did add a layer of Gelly Roll Stardust pen to the black inked sentiment before I heat embossed it to give it a shimmery look. I also added some Stardust pen to the little stars on the pajama pants for some added sparkle.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the Have a Spooky Good Halloween sentiment with white pigment ink and embossed with white detail embossing powder.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have enjoyed and been inspired by my Halloween Cozy Toes card featuring the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for October 2024.
I hope you have a wonderful, crafty day!
Hugs,
Tonya
