Life is Better with You
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! I’m excited to share a new card I made for Dare 2B Artzy—this one is a little mix of new goodies and a favorite die I’ve been holding onto for a while.
I started with the Sweet as Honey stamp set and coordinating die, paired with the new Hexagon Nestables die set. I also pulled in some gorgeous papers from the latest release: Spread Your Wings and Bitzy Bees. And yes, I even dug out the Slimline Honeycomb Die—though I think it might be retired, so don’t worry if you can’t find it. I’ve included the link to an alternative die for anyone who wants it.
The card base is classic black, A2 size. I layered the honeycomb die cut in gold mirror cardstock across the side, trimming off the extra to fit perfectly. I cut an extra piece of the honeycomb die from some of the honeycomb paper and inlayed 3 of them into the gold mirror cardstock. The alternate side got a cheerful piece of Bitzy Bees paper, and I used a decorative edge to cover the seam so everything feels cohesive.
For the focal point, I went with a layered hexagon feature using the Nested Hexagons dies. The second largest scalloped hexagon die cut with the blue polka-dot side of the Spread Your Wings paper, then I added a smaller white hexagon and framed it with yellow cardstock. The bee from the Sweet as Honey set was stamped and colored to match the Bitzy Bees pattern, then layered with dimensional foam to really make it pop.
The sentiment, “Life is Better with You,” got a double treatment: first stamped in Totally Black ink, then heat-embossed for a little extra shine. I tucked it under the bee with a sweet little flower, and finished things off with some green gems around the bee and a yellow gem in the flower center.
This card came together surprisingly quickly, but I love how the two sides of the background play off each other—one side is bold and dramatic, while the other side is soft and playful with the bees. It’s simple, but full of charm!
Thanks so much for stopping by—I hope your day is filled with creativity and fun.
Hugs,
Tonya
