Hoppy Easter

Hello and welcome!

Today I’m sharing a bright and cheerful Easter card featuring the beautiful Daisy Cover Plate Die from Hero Arts. This stunning cover die creates the perfect springtime backdrop, and I paired it with a few sweet images from the Color My World Stamp & Cut Set.

To begin, I die cut the Daisy Cover Plate from Teal Topaz cardstock by Spellbinders. This die cuts beautifully and creates such a fun, artistic floral background with incredible detail.

For contrast, I layered the die cut over a bright orange-coral cardstock panel. I’m not sure of the brand, but I wanted something bold and happy to really make those florals pop. I applied liquid glue to the back of the cover plate and adhered the two panels together.

I had previously stamped and colored several of the bunnies and chicks from the Color My World Stamp & Cut Set, so I used a few extras for this card. I selected two bunnies and one adorable little chick to create a sweet focal point.

To assemble the focal area, I trimmed a piece of vellum to 4¼” x 1¼”. Using the grid on my glass mat to help with alignment, I adhered the colored images to the vellum strip with liquid glue. I then added the embossed and die cut sentiment “Hoppy Easter” in the center.

Once everything was set, I attached the vellum strip to the card panel, placing small amounts of glue discreetly behind the images so it wouldn’t show through the vellum.

For a little sparkle, I added glitter gems to the centers of the flowers on the background panel. This simple detail adds just the right touch of shine.

Finally, I mounted the completed panel onto a top-folding card base made from Neenah 110lb cardstock.
