Hero Arts Egg-stra Special Collection

Hello and welcome!

Today I’m excited to share some fresh inspiration featuring the new Egg-stra Special Collection from Hero Arts. This release is filled with delightful Easter and spring-themed stamps and dies—but the sweet images in this collection can easily be used all year long for charming scene cards.

For my first project, I reached for the Color My World Stamp & Cut set from the Egg-stra Special Collection. This darling set is packed with adorable bunnies in a variety of playful poses, along with a few sweet little chicks. It also includes a large egg image that’s perfect for experimenting with different techniques like ink blending, watercolor, or stenciling to create beautifully decorated eggs.

I stamped and colored several of the bunnies and chicks, along with a few paintbrushes and a bucket of paint—enough images to create two cards. While coloring, I started thinking about how I wanted to design the egg and remembered my stash of background panels from past crafty sessions. I often hold onto pieces created with inks, watercolor, and gel mediums, knowing they’ll come in handy one day—and this was the perfect opportunity!

I pulled out my collection and found a few watercolor panels that worked beautifully. One featured soft pastel washes, and another had bold watercolor stripes. Both made stunning, ready-made “decorated” eggs. I used the coordinating egg die to cut the shapes directly from those backgrounds, instantly giving me vibrant, artistic focal points.

For my first card, I built a sweet spring scene with the pastel egg as the centerpiece, then added a couple of bunnies and a chick to bring it to life. To complete the setting, I incorporated the Bees and Flowers Fancy Dies from Hero Arts and the Landscape Edges Etched Dies from Spellbinders to create soft clouds and grassy borders.

To finish the card, I added the sentiment “You’re Egg-stra Special” and used the coordinating die for a polished look.
