Spooky Cute Halloween
Hello Artzy friends!
I’m back today with a new project for Dare 2B Artzy, and since Halloween is right around the corner, I couldn’t resist creating a fun and festive card featuring one of the adorable pups from the Trick or Treat stamp set!
Do you dress your pets up for Halloween? We adopted a sweet Whippet mix named Tallie earlier this year. She’s full of energy, all legs, and always ready to run — I can’t even imagine trying to get her into a costume! I’m sure she’d hate it, but oh, she would look so cute!

For today’s card, I colored up the charming Schnauzer puppy from the Trick or Treat stamp set — I like to call him Charlie (maybe it’s the pumpkin costume that inspired the name, haha!). I also colored the jack-o’-lantern bucket filled with treats and the caramel apple. To give the bucket an open-top look, I carefully trimmed off the handle after die-cutting everything with the coordinating dies.
I started with a piece of light gray cardstock cut to 4″ x 5¼” and began ink blending with Distress Inks.
I worked from dark to light using:
- Prize Ribbon and Blueprint Sketch around the edges,
- Villainous Potion, Wilted Violet, and Shaded Lilac toward the center.
To finish the outer edge, I blended in a touch of Black Soot, leaving a lighter area near the top-left center where I planned to place my moon.

Once the blending was done, I placed the panel in a box and spritzed it with Distress Mica Sprays in Weathered Wood and Wilted Violet for a beautiful shimmery night sky. A few white gel pen stars added the perfect magical touch.
For the moon, I used the third largest Double Dot Circle Die (3 5/16”) to cut a circle from pale yellow cardstock. I blended on Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed, then dabbed a bit of Lost Shadow for some subtle shading.
To create the clouds drifting across the moon, I die-cut two small vellum clouds using the Slimline Land & Clouds Border Dies. I also cut two strips of green grass from the same die set for the ground.

I adhered my ink-blended background to a piece of purple plaid paper from the Summer Breeze 6×6 paper pack using dimensional foam. Then, I layered and trimmed the grass strips to fit along the bottom.
The moon was attached with more foam for depth, and I used my Xyron sticker maker to add adhesive to the vellum clouds — avoiding the parts that would hang off the moon so they appear to float naturally.
Next came Charlie the puppy, the candy bucket, and the caramel apple — all layered to create a cute little Halloween scene.
I heat embossed the “Happy Halloween” sentiment, die-cut it with the coordinating die, and popped it up with foam tape over the moon. For the finishing touch, I added a few purple iridescent gems for sparkle.

And that’s my spooky-cute Halloween card for today!
Thanks so much for stopping by — I hope this inspires you to get creative with your Dare 2B Artzy Trick or Treat stamp set this Halloween! 🧡👻
Hugs,
Tonya
