Joyful Jingles
Hello again, Artzy friends!
I’m so excited to be back today with another festive card for Dare 2B Artzy, featuring the charming Joyful Jingles stamp and coordinating die set. This set includes three large retro-style ornaments, one smaller ornament, a bow to embellish, a string stamp, two music notes, a touch of greenery, and seven versatile sentiments—perfect for holiday crafting!
I began by diving into my stash of unused backgrounds—those colorful panels I’ve made during gelli plate or watercolor play sessions. I pulled out a few watercolor washes in blue, orange-pink, and purple, thinking they’d make vibrant, eye-catching ornaments.
Using Dare 2B Artzy’s Totally Black Ink, I stamped the large ornaments and the bow onto each panel. While the watercolor alone was lovely, I added extra shading and detail with colored pencils to give them more depth. Once satisfied, I die-cut the ornaments and bows with the coordinating dies.
I also stamped the ornament strings on the same watercolor panels and die-cut those as well. For the background, I chose the 12×12 Joyful Jingles patterned paper—its colorful lights complemented my ornaments beautifully. I trimmed it using the largest Rectangle Framelets die (4″ x 5¼”).
To anchor the design, I cut a 3⅜” oval from black cardstock and framed it with a green iridescent cardstock oval using the next largest die (3¾”). Both pieces were layered onto the patterned paper.
After arranging the ornaments, I nestled the sentiment “Jingle All the Way” between them. I removed the ornaments, placed the panel in my MISTI, stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed the sentiment in white for a crisp, festive look.
I adhered two ornaments flat with liquid glue and popped the third up with foam tape for dimension. To finish, I added glitter drop embellishments to each ornament and scattered gold iridescent stars around the sentiment for a little extra sparkle.
That wraps up today’s card! I encourage you to revisit your stash of unused backgrounds—you might be surprised how beautifully they pair with a set like Joyful Jingles. Sometimes the perfect card is just waiting in your scraps bin!
Thanks so much for stopping by. All the products I used are listed and linked below for your convenience. Happy crafting!
Hugs,
Tonya
