Hello Sunshine
Hello and welcome!
Today I am excited to share a card made using the new Beach Life stamp and coordinating die set from Dare 2B Artzy. This stamp is part of the new Coastal Getaway collection and I am loving everything in this new collection. Lots of fun beachy stamps, exotic locations, a car. It’s all so much fun and definitely making me want a nice beach vacation!
For my card, I wanted to try out Cindy’s fun flap card that she created last week.
I stamped an colored all of my images with my alcohol markers. In total I stamped and colored 6 images from the Beach Life stamp set.
I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out. I love how the die for the beach chair cuts out the little section directly beneath the seat so you can see the background through it. Such an awesome little detail.
Next, I used several of Dare 2B Artzy’s older dies to create a beach scene. I cut some kraft cardstock from the Wavy Slimline Framelet die. Using the same die, I also cut it from some Neenah 110lb Solar White Cardstock.
Using the kraft piece of cardstock I die cut a nice slope to create a wavy beach dune using one of the Curve Slimline Border dies.
Next, I cut a piece of iridescent blue cardstock from the same Wavey Slimline Framelet die. This would be my water for my paper ocean or lake – whichever you’re picturing yourself at.
Using the same Curve Slimline Border die set, I chose the scalloped curve. This would allow me to create some fun waves for my water.
Once all of the pieces were die cut, I used my score board to score all of the wavy cut cardstock on the right side. I scored each piece at 4 7/8 and gently folded the flap to crease it.

I adhered my colored umbrella behind the kraft cardstock with some liquid glue.
Next, I glued the iridescent blue paper for my water to the kraft cardstock with some additional liquid glue and set something heavy on them to dry.
While the glue was drying, I used the Dare 2B Artzy’s Clouds and Raindrops stencil to ink blend on some clouds to my wavy slimline die cut cardstock that was cut from Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock. I used Broken China Distress Ink for my clouds and blended about half way down the die cut piece of cardstock.
Once finished, I was able to adhere the beach and water to the ink blended panel with some liquid glue. I avoided glue on the scored flaps for now.
I cut two 4 x 5 1/4 pieces of cardstock. One from Neenah 110lb cardstock and a second piece from the Coastal Getaway paper pack. I chose the blue paper with the white scripty lettering.
I took the wavy cardstock with my die cuts adhered to it and placed some glue on the 1/4 inch scored flap edge and glued it to the blue paper that I had die cut. Using my trimmer, I cut off the extra flaps for the beach and water.

I took the white die cut cardstock and glued it behind the blue paper to make it more finished. This created a little book type opening on the front of the card.
The beach chair and sea shell colored images were added to the front of the beachy scene with some liquid glue.
I stamped and heat embossed the Hello Sunshine sentiment to my scene and popped it up with some very thin foam strips.
Underneath the flap, I added the floral paper from the Coastal Getaway collection after I had die cut it using the scalloped die from the Center Step Die set. This piece of cardstock would tuck perfectly behind the front flap.
I cut a flagged piece from some white cardstock and stamped and heat embossed the sentiment Relax and Unwind from the Beach Life stamp set. I added two additional sea shells and the colored sunglasses around the sentiment.
I added the panel to an A2 top folding card base cut from Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock.
Inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment It’s Your Day!
I love that this card has the fun flap on the front that hides the hidden sentiment and images behind it. Plus, there’s a sentiment inside. It turned out so fun.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I will have all of the products used for this card linked below for your convenience.
Hugs,
Tonya
