Aged to Perfection

Hello and welcome!

I have a fun card today for Dare 2B Artzy featuring the Wine Between Friends stamp and coordinating die set.

I really love coloring people, hairstyles and clothing. I knew I wanted to color this stamp set when I first saw it because of the cute lady holding the wine glass and bottle.

To start my image was stamped with Dare 2B Artzy’s Totally Black ink onto Neenah 110lb Solar White Cardstock. The Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink is a great ink to use for coloring with alcohol markers.

I used my Sketch Marker Brush Pro markers and colored her shirt, hair, the bottle and the glass along with her shoes. I was channeling my inner 80’s teenager with her floral pants which I created by stamping her onto some of the blue floral paper from the Everything Blooms Collection. Once her pants were stamped onto the paper, I fussy cut them out on the stamped line in order to be able to paper piece her pants over the colored image.

After the image was completely colored, I used the coordinating die to cut her out and then adhered the paper pieced pants into place with some liquid glue.

Next, I wanted to create a background with some texture so I decided to emboss the Quilted Flower Background die. I embossed it with an embossing mat on my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine.

Once embossed, I used the 3rd largest die from the Rectangle Framelets die set. The die measures 2-7/8″x 1-5/8¾ and I die cut a rectangle from my embossed Quilted Flower background off to the left side of the paper.

Ideally, I should have probably embossed the Quilted Flower background after I die cut the rectangle as it did flatten out some of the embossing. To remedy that, I did re-emboss it again.

For my card base, I used a piece of Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock and created a horizontal top fold card base. Using the same rectangle framelets die, I die cut a rectangle on the left side of my card base.

Next, I used the same Rectangle Framelet die 2-7/8″x 1-5/8¾ and the next largest die which measured 3-3/8″x 2-1/8″ I taped them so that they would cut a cardstock frame from some red cardstock. I adhered that over my rectangle opening in the quilted background to create a more finished look.

I adhered the embossed Quilted Background onto the card base leaving a 1/8-inch border around it.

I wanted my image to have the appearance of floating over the background rectangle that I cut into both layers of the cardstock so I cut a piece of the yellow Cable Knit paper from the Everything Is Blooming collection and adhered it inside my card base at the top of the panel so that it could be seen behind my stamped image.

To adhere the colored image, I added a bit of liquid glue to the top of her head, bottom where her shoes are and each side with the bottle and glass and adhered them to the background along the edge of the red frame.

Using two of the sentiments; Aged to Perfection and Just like our Friendship! I stamped them with Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink and then stamped them again with embossing ink and heat set with clear embossing powder. I like the finished look of the sentiments this way.

I used the coordinating dies to die cut the sentiments and I popped them up with some thin foam strips on my card front.

For a bit of sparkle, I added a few blue and clear gems to the card panel.

I did leave the inside of this card blank as it could be used as either a friendship card or even a Birthday card for a friend.

That wraps up my card for today. Please check out the Dare 2B Artzy Facebook Group “Artzy Community” for much more inspiration using the Wine Between Friends stamp and die set.

As always, I will link to all of the products used in today’s card below for your convenience.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Hugs,

Tonya
