Birthday Fairy
Hello crafty friends!
Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend.
We adopted a new dog last Monday, a Whippet Chihuahua mix we’ve named Tally. It has been an exciting and exhausting first week in our house getting used to new routines and other furry members of the household.
Today, I have a new card for you featuring the new Dare 2B Artzy Birthday Fairy stamp and die set. I love all things fairy and it’s always fun to color them because you can color them any color you can imagine.
For the fairy I colored her with my Sketch Marker Brush Pro alcohol markers using teal and green for her dress and violet and and a sort of pink-orange for her wings. For her skin color I used the Artify Alcohol Markers skin tone collection.
I also colored the stack of gifts to go in her hands. I used a similar set of colors for the gifts to keep the coloring simple.
Using the coordinating die cuts I die cut my images.
For the background, I used the Night Sky Hot Foil plate from Dare 2B Artzy. I hot foiled it onto some glossy white cardstock using Rainbow Confetti hot foil. I love the colorful starry background paired with my Birthday Fairy. It’s so festive. I used a Oval Framelet die cut cut the foiled background down.
To add to my background, I die cut the largest Rectangle Framelet die that measured 4 x 5 1/4 from some violet cardstock and I used the next largest Rectangle Framelet to create an embossed frame inside of my die cut but running it through my die cutting machine with the embossing mat.
I added a bit of tone-on-tone ink blending around the edges with Dare 2B Artzy’s Wild Orchid ink although it’s not very noticeable after the ink dried.
Next, I used the same two largest rectangle framelets and taped them together so that they were evenly spaced and ran them though my die cut machine to create a frame from some teal cardstock.
I added the frame to the violet background with some dimensional foam.
Inside the frame, I added my Night Sky hot foiled oval with some additional dimensional foam.
Off to one side, I popped up my fairy and her stack of gifts.
I stamped the sentiment, Fairy Kisses and Birthday Wishes with Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink and I restamped it with embossing ink and heat set it with clear embossing ink for a finished look. The die set includes the coordinating dies for many of the sentiments. I die cut the sentiment out and added it to two additional die cut layers to build dimension. I popped it up with dimensional foam on one side and added liquid glue on the other half.
For a finishing touch I added some iridescent gems around the card panel with some liquid glue. I also used a Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen to the fairy wings and on the teal frame in the background.
I love this Fairy Birthday stamp and die set. It’s so fun to make colorful birthday cards with this set.
Thank you for stopping by today!
Have a crafty day!
Hugs,
Tonya
