Dimensional Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome!

Today I am sharing a fun, bright, dimensional birthday card featuring elements from the new Dare 2B Artzy Here’s to You stamp set paired with the Candle Pocket Die. I also used the banner stamp and coordinating die from the Sugar Buzz set.

To start, I stamped and colored the balloon, two of the candles and the gift box with the bow which are all from the Here’s to You stamp set. I used alcohol markers and chose bright, primary colors to color all of my images today. Once colored, I used a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush to add some shimmer to my colored images.

Since I did not have the coordinating die for the Here’s to You stamp set, I did cut out my colored images using my Brother Scan-n-Cut DXL machine.

Next, I stamped the banner with Dare 2B Artzy Midnight Blue Ink. After cleaning off the stamp, I restamped the banner with some embossing ink and added some clear embossing powder to it and heat set it.

After the banner was heat embossed, I used the Happy Birthday sentiment stamp that fits inside the banner and stamped it with Dare 2B Artzy Paradise Ink. Again, I cleaned the ink off of the sentiment stamp and then restamped it with some embossing ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder.

I used my Brother Scan-n-Cut again to cut out the completed Happy Birthday sentiment banner.

I stamped and colored two sets of the banners from the Sugar Buzz stamp set and used the coordinating die set to cut them out.

Next, I cut the Candle Pocket Die from some blue cardstock.  I gently folded along the score lines that the die creates and creased them with my bone folder. Using the Star Duo stencil and some white pigment ink, I pounced on the white ink through the stencil. The result was some white stars on my pocket die. I heat set the stenciled stars so I wouldn’t accidently smear it. I added some Scor-tape to the tabs that are on three sides of the die cut and set it aside.

To create a backer to my Candle Pocket die cut, I cut a piece of the Pitcher Paper from Dare 2B Artzy using a Rectangle Framelet die that measured 3 ¾ x 4 ¾ inches.  I cut a piece of solid yellow cardstock from the largest Rectangle Framelet that measured 5 ¼ x 4 and added that to a top folding, horizontal A2 card base cut from 110lb Neenah Solar White Cardstock.

Over my yellow cardstock backer, I layered the striped Pitcher paper on top with some dimensional foam.

I added the two banner dies to the top edge of the striped background with some liquid glue. I centered the dimensional pocket die on the background and adhered it to the cardstock by removing the backer on the Scor-tape.

Normally, the Candle Pocket Die has the decorative candle element that goes onto the front of the pocket. However, I decided to do something a bit different. I added my colored balloon, candles and the package to the front of the pocket with some dimensional foam.

The candles from the Candle Pocket die were die cut from some textured silver cardstock. Next, I cut down a piece of rainbow foiled cardstock to 2 1/8 x 3 3/8.  On the foiled cardstock, I used a tiny PULL stamp from my stash and stamped and heat set it into the center of the foiled cardstock near the top. The Candle Pocket die cut has a little dip in the center so the PULL can be seen by the recipient so that they know to remove the little card inside.

The silver textured candle piece was adhered to the front of the rainbow foiled cardstock. Using the extra candle wick die piece, I die cut several of these from some different colors of glitter cardstock. I added one to each of the candles in a rainbow order (sort of). When the recipient pulls out the little card, they see the nice sparkly birthday candles.

To the back of the candle piece, I adhered a gift card with some EZ Dots Repositionable tape. This way the gift card can easily be removed without permanent damage to the card elements. You could also add a sentiment to the back side of the cardstock if you aren’t adding a gift card. Another option would be to fold up some cash and use the EZ Dots to adhere it to the back of the cardstock and tuck it into the pocket.

Finally, I added the Happy Birthday sentiment banner to the top center of the background with some dimensional foam.

For this card, I would probably hand deliver it but you could also safely mail it in a bubble mailer to the recipient.

That finishes up my fun, dimensional Birthday card. I hope you are inspired to replenish your birthday card stash using Dare 2B Artzy’s, Here’s to You stamp set paired with the fun Candle Pocket Die.

As always, I will have all of the products used in today’s card listed below for your convenience.

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Hugs,

Tonya
