Dreaming of a Puppy Present? Me Too!
Hello crafty friends!
I have another Christmas Card for you today featuring Dare 2B Artzy products. This card features the adorable Puppy Present stamp set. There is also a coordinating die for this stamp set as well. This stamp is just too cute and very versatile as it can be used for either Christmas or for a birthday card. It has the main focal image with the puppy in the present. There are several other images that can be used to add a hat to the puppy or additional packages along with some confetti and ribbons. There are also nine sentiments in this set.
I don’t know about you, but as a kid I always dreamed of getting a puppy for Christmas. The idea of opening up a little box and finding an adorable puppy would have been a dream come true. Of course, now that I’m an adult, I am always trying to convince my hubby to get another dog. We have two already as well as two cats so hubby’s answer is always no. It’s on my Christmas list this year anyway along with a pigmy fainting goat, but that’s another story, LOL!
To create this card, I stamped and colored the puppy image with my Sketchmarker Brush Pro alcohol markers.
I also colored one extra package and the Santa hat for the puppy.
After everything was colored, I cut them out with the coordinating dies.
I didn’t have any ideas for a layout for this card until I was looking at the Winter Escape Paper Pack. In the paper there is a sheet that has tags on it and some simple pre-formatted card layouts and scrapbook items. I liked the simple layout that had the three stockings hanging.
I trimmed out that section of the paper which measured 4 x 5 1/4. I used my Rectangle Fancy Framelets die to cut a piece of dark green cardstock. I was then able to layer that over top of the background with the stockings. The Fancy Framelets die matches up to the same shape on the background paper except it’s slightly smaller so it gives the appearance of a shadow. I thought it looked good.
The background was added to a horizontal top-folding card base made from some off white 100lb cardstock cut and scored for an A2 size card
Next, I cut a smaller Rectangle Fancy Framelet from some off-white cardstock to layer on top of the dark green one with some Score-tape.
I decided to add a stocking to my background so I stamped the stocking from the Christmas Magic Stamp set and colored it a dark blue to match the ribbon on my Puppy Present. I die cut it out with the coordinating die and adhered it to the smaller Fancy Framelet on the background.
I added the die cut Puppy Present image with some dimensional foam. The Santa hat was added to the adorable puppy with some liquid glue. I also added the additional gift package with some liquid glue to the right of the box.
For the sentiment, I wanted something thin that had a coordinating die because I didn’t want to cover up too much of the cute puppy and gifts. I found the Happy Holidays from the Holiday Birds stamp set which was released last year. It was the perfect sentiment for this card.
I stamped the Happy Holidays onto Neenah 110lb cardstock with Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink and then I cleaned off my stamp and stamped it again with some embossing ink. I added some clear embossing powder and heat set it. I think that the embossing gives such a nice finishing touch to a sentiment.
Finally, I die cut the sentiment and added it to the front of the Puppy Present with some thin dimensional foam strips.
For some finishing details, I added some Gelly Roll Stardust pen to some of the packages and bows as well as to the curly ribbon and the tissue paper. I also added some to the little stars on the red background paper.
For a bit more sparkle, I added some Opal Gems to the background with some liquid glue.
That finished up my card for today. I’ll have links to the products I used listed down below.
I have a couple of weeks off as the Dare 2B Artzy Design Team gets a holiday break. Of course, I’ll still be around for a few other posts here on my blog that I have planned.
However, just in case you get busy or are traveling somewhere for the holidays and you miss my posts, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
May all your Christmas wishes come true and you find a cute puppy under your tree (or a pigmy fainting goat)!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Tonya
