STAMPtember 2024 Limited Edition Exclusive: Dare 2B Artzy

Hello and welcome!

Today is an exciting day! It is the STAMPtember collaboration release from Simon Says Stamp featuring Dare 2B Artzy.

I am so excited to be able to share the card I created with the amazing Dare 2B Artzy’s Sunshine STAMPtember exclusive stamp set. I look forward to STAMPtember every year but especially when I get to share the Dare 2B Artzy limited edition set!

This wonderful stamp features 3 main images; two with some lovely sunflowers and one with a couple of pumpkins and a corn bundle. There is also an adorable smiley face to give your images some character if you’d like.

In addition to all of the amazing images, the stamp set includes 7 sentiments. Simon Says Stamp will offer a bundled version of the stamp that has a coordinating die.  This STAMPtember set is a limited edition, once it sells out it will no longer be available so if you want it, go and place your order now.

To create my card today, I stamped the images with Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink on to Neenah 110lb Solar White Cardstock.

I colored each of my images with Altenew Artist Markers.

Full Disclosure: since I didn’t have the coordinating dies for this set, I did use my Brother Scan-n-Cut machine to cut out the images after they were colored.

Next, to create a scene for my sunflowers I used the Make Waves Hot Fiol Plate. I foiled the plate with Spellbinders matte gold foil onto a piece of Spellbinders Glimmer Specialty Cardstock.

Once the Make Waves plate was foiled onto my cardstock, I ink blended some green, brown, orange and yellow pigment inks into the white areas of the panel that weren’t foiled to make it look like rolling hills or fields where you might see sunflowers planted. Since I didn’t need a full background, I fussy cut along one of the gold waves on the panel about ¼ of the way from the bottom. I set aside the piece while I worked on the rest of my background.

To create the sky for my background I used a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ piece of Neenah 110lb cardstock. Using the Dare 2B Artzy Clouds & Raindrops Stencil, I ink blended on a colorful sky using Distress Oxide inks in Abandoned Coral, Villainous Potion, Carved Pumpkin and Fossilized Amber.

I thought these looked like the perfect Fall-like colorful clouds that you might see with a gorgeous sunset or sunrise while you’re standing in a field of sunflowers.

I heat set the ink blended background so that the oxide ink would dry a bit quicker in order for me to stamp the sentiment.

I stamped the simple Hello sentiment from the STAMPtember Sunshine set onto the background with Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink. I stamped it a 2^nd time with embossing ink and added some clear embossing powder to it and heat set it for a nice glossy finish to my sentiment.

The ink blended sky panel was added to a top folding A2 card base made from Neenah 110lb Cardstock. Next, I layered on the foiled Make Waves section at the bottom of the panel with liquid glue.

To create a frame for the scene, I used a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch panel of white cardstock and cut an Oval out of the center using the 3 ¼ inch Oval Framelets Die from Dare 2B Artzy. After the oval was cut out, I ran the cardstock through my die cutting machine again with an embossing mat and the next largest oval which is about 3 ¾ inches and created an embossed oval frame around my die cut oval. The double dot detail is a nice embossed touch for the frame.

On the left side of the oval, I tucked my cluster of sunflowers so that they would hang over the edge of the frame and added some liquid glue to them and adhered them to my ink blended background.

I added the cluster of pumpkins and corn to the bottom of the oval with some dimensional foam.

For a bit of shimmery detail, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust pen to add some dot accents to the sunflowers to finish off the card.
