A Cozy Holiday Scene
Welcome Crafty Friends!
I am excited to be back today with a new card from the Dare 2B Artzy Holiday Release.
Today I am playing with the Cozy Holiday’s stamp and die set. This set features 6 images and 6 sentiments plus a To/From stamp which you can use these to make tags for all of your holiday gift giving.
I love that the die set has dies to cut out all of the sentiments which is a bonus in my book!
When I saw this stamp set, I immediately thought that these would make the perfect scene card. The images just remind me of a snowy, winter day curled up by a fireplace or a window reading a good book.
That’s exactly what I decided to create for my scene today.
To start, I laid out my main images; the globe, the books and the cup of cider (I think that’s what it is with the cinnamon stick).
I decided to do some stamp layering. I stamped the globe onto some Neenah 110lb cardstock. I stamped it a second time onto some removable label paper and fussy cut it out. This creates a mask for the image. Since I stamped the globe first, it will be my foremost image in the scene.
Next, I positioned the books to the right of the masked globe and the cup and cookies to the left. I positioned them so that they wouldn’t be exactly level with the globe. This adds to the dimension of the items and gives it a bit of depth as well. Once the images were positioned where I wanted them, I stamped them onto the cardstock.
After I stamped the images, I removed the mask from the globe to reveal my mini scene. I think removing the mask is the best part.
I colored all of my images with my Sketchmarker Brush Pro alcohol markers. I kept my colors more on the muted side so that they would feel cozy in the scene.

After everything was colored, I fussy cut the images with some fine detail scissors.
Next, I used the largest Square Framelet die and paired it with the 2nd largest Square Framelet die to create a frame that was cut from some Neenah 110lb cardstock.
Once I had the frame cut, I adhered some acetate to the frame to make it look like a window and added some double-sided foam tape to the back of it.
Using the largest Square Framelet die again, I cut out one of the images from the 12×12 Cabin Retreat paper. I chose an image that I thought would appear that you were watching the ice skaters from a cozy cabin window.
I added some white clay snowflakes to the center of the paper and then placed the frame with the acetate over the Cabin Retreat paper adhering them together and creating a shaker card.

At the bottom front of the frame, I added a piece of kraft cardstock that I had embossed with a wood grain embossing folder from my stash. This would create a table that my stamped images would sit on. I added the kraft cardstock to the background with some Scor-Tape and then placed my images to appear that they were resting on the table in front of the window.
To make the globe look like glass, I added some Glossy Accents to it and set it aside to dry overnight.
After the Glossy Accents on the globe were dry the next day, I added the scene to an A2 card base cut from some dark green cardstock.
For the sentiment, I stamped the,” May your story be full of Wonder” onto some white cardstock and die cut it with the flag die that comes with the coordinating die set. I matted that with a piece of the Cozy Holiday’s plaid paper. The sentiment was adhered to the bottom of the card base underneath the scene.
Since this is a shaker card, I didn’t add many embellishments. I just added some red gems under the sentiment and to the berries on the holly.

That finishes my card for today. I hope you’re inspired to create some cozy cards and crafts with the new Dare 2B Artzy Cozy Holiday’s stamp set.
