A Coffee Date with Kathy
Hello and welcome back!
Today, I am so very excited to be having a Coffee Date today with Kathy Schweinfurth from Coffee Loving Papercrafters Design Team. It is such a privilege to be invited to share a post about my two favorite things; cardmaking and coffee. I am honored to be sharing my Coffee Date with Kathy who is a crazy, talented card maker and crafter. I love her eye for card design. You can check out her blog here: https://stampsatplay.blogspot.com/
Those who know me well, know that I love to post coffee memes on my Facebook page. All funny memes of course because I believe it’s important to laugh each day!
If you are interested in the video for this first card, you can check it out over on my YouTube channel below:
Let’s get into the cards I created for my Coffee Date with Kathy. We decided on a color scheme for our cards and I chose to go with bright colors. I love to channel my inner Lisa Frank (if you know who that is; yep, you are old! LOL!).
For my first card, I used items from the Taylored Expressions Perk Up collection, starting with the Perk Up Foil-It’s and Dragon Fruit Fun Foil. Using the coordinating Perk Up Layering Stencil from Taylored Expressions, I ink blended on several Simon Says Stamp’s inks; Surf, Sweets, Lemonade, Celery and Limelicious. I always feel like the coordinating products make it easy to pull a card together. The Coffee Create Repeat sentiments are so fun and the sentiment I chose is right up my ally. I did use the dies that coordinate with the stencil to cut out a little coffee cup to place next to my sentiment.
Since I was making coffee themed cards, I found it hard to stop with just one card. I mean, who has only one cup of coffee anyway?!
I created my second card using some of my favorite coffee stamps from Dare 2B Artzy. Kathy and I are both on the Design Team for Dare 2B Artzy. They happen to have some of my favorite coffee-themed stamps and dies.
For this card, I used the Latte Love Stamp set to create the tone-on-tone stamped coffee words in the background and also stamped, colored and die cut the cute to-go coffee cup. I just love the sentiment for this set, Sending you a Latte Love. So sweet! I paired this stamp set with some Taylored Expressions postage dies, card layout dies & cute flowers.
Just one last final card to wrap up my Coffee Date. This card features the cutest coffee cup ever from Concord & 9th. This is the Cup of Kindness die set. Isn’t this just too cute!!
I die cut the cup from several pieces of cardstock and patterened paper and assembled it. I used the coordinating flower die that comes with it to embellish the front of the cup. For the background I used the Quilted Card Front from Concord & 9th and the Frame in Frame die set from Taylored Expressions to frame my scene with some foil cardstock and bright green paper. Of course this sentiment is appropriate for any non-morning person who loves their coffee. As a finishing touch, I added a couple of adorable donut embellishments from my stash.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Be sure to check out Kathy’s cards today for our Coffee Date over on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog which can be found here: https://coffeelovingpapercrafters.com/
