Taylored Expressions Baroque Bouquet: Card Making Inspiration and Ideas

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

I am popping in to share a card I made featuring the Taylored Expressions Baroque Bouquet.

I was lucky enough to have a free afternoon one Saturday and spent some time binging Netflicks and just coloring which was a real treat.

There is a video for today’s card over on my YouTube channel as well in case you’re interested:

The Baroque Bouquet stamp from Taylored Expressions is a gorgeous flower bouquet that features a multitude of different flowers, leaves, buds to color. This is a large stamp which measures 5 ¼ inches long by 4 ¾ almost 5 inches wide. It is larger than an A2 sized card panel. While you can stamp it onto an A2 card, you would not be able to fit the entire image onto it.

I chose to stamp the flowers only on one side of an A2 piece of Neenah 110lb Solar White Cardstock and then I flipped the panel over and stamped the other side with the flowers as well. This gives me two halves of the bouquet on my card panel.

Using my Olo markers, I colored up all the flowers which took me a couple of hours.

While there is no traditional type of stencil available as of the publication of this blog post. A traditional stencil or a layering stencil might allow an alternative to coloring the image with markers. That would allow you to blend ink on the stamped flower image and save some time rather than coloring the image.  I am hopeful that Taylored Expressions will release a layering stencil at some point which would be so fun to use with this image.

However, there is a masking stencil available. The masking stencil covers the image and allows you to blend ink around the exterior of the image which creates a focal point highlight for your colored image. Another alternative would be to use the masking stencil to cover the image and then use a traditional stencil to provide some texture to the background around the flowers.

I used the masking stencil and added some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink around my stamped and colored image. I like the nice soft halo this gives the image.

I should note that there is also a 3D Embossing Folder and a die that cuts out the Baroque Bouquet stamp set that are also available from Taylored Expressions. I did not end up using them for this card.

Once I had finished coloring and ink blending the flowers, I cut the card panel down using the A2 Postage Stamp Stacklets die set and added it to some Taylored Expressions Black Licorice Cardstock. The panel was then added to a card base from some Neenah 110lb Cardstock.

For my sentiment, I used the Sundry Sentiments stamp set. I love the playful font of this sentiment set. I stamped the, You’re Amazing with some embossing ink and heat embossed it with some Detail Black embossing powder from Ranger Ink. I cut the sentiment out using the coordinating die set for the Sundry Sentiments.

To add a bit of sparkle I added some small gems to the card panel around the flowers. I also added some white Jelly Roll accents to the flower centers.

Thanks for stopping by. I will have all of the links below for the products used in today’s card for your convenience.

Have a wonderful, crafty day!

Hugs,

Tonya
