The Magic of Christmas with DAre 2B Artzy

Hello and welcome back Artzy friends!

I am back today with another card featuring the Cozy Fireplace and Season to be Jolly stamp sets from Dare 2B Artzy.

I love creating scene cards and these stamp sets make it so easy to create a cozy holiday scene.

To start, I stamped the Cozy Fireplace stamp onto 110lb heavyweight cardstock. Using the ink left on my stamp, I stamped a second image onto some masking paper. I use full sheet removable label paper to create my masks.

I fussy cut the mask image and also cut out the center of the fireplace as well since I would be stamping my Santa image onto the mask. The masked image was fussy cut and layered on top of my stamped image.

Next, I stamped the Santa so that it would appear that he was coming down into the fireplace and then removed the mask.

I stamped some additional images for my scene. Including the Christmas Tree, a package, garland, Yule Log and two of the stockings.

Each image was colored using my Sketch marker Brush Pro alcohol markers. NOTE, for the Christmas Tree, I colored the whole image green since I knew I’d be adding glitter gems as my ornaments. It makes coloring a bit quicker.

Originally, I thought I did not have the coordinating dies for this set so I had planned to cut everything out with my Brother Scan n Cut, but I found my coordinating dies. Yay!!

Since I had the dies, I cut everything out including my stamped and masked fireplace which cut out the center of the fireplace with Santa. I might have planned the card a bit differently had I realized I had the coordinating dies but I made it work.

To do so, I trimmed out the inside edge of the fireplace because it had traces of red where I had colored Santas suit. I used the die cut inside fireplace image to trace on some darker grey cardstock and then colored it in with similar markers to avoid seeing any white cardstock behind my Santa image since I would be popping the fireplace up to make a dimensional scene. Once finished, I glued my Santa onto the colored grey cardstock and trimmed it to fit behind the fireplace.

For my background, I embossed some 110lb cardstock with a wood plank embossing folder from my stash. I trimmed a bit of dark green cardstock and some of the Dare 2B Artzy Ice Cream Social paper to create the ground for my scene. I cut the finished background to 4 x 5 ¼

With my background created, I was able to start building my scene from the die cut images. I placed the Santa coming down the chimney first. I trimmed off the rug in front of the fireplace and added it to the background. My fireplace was added with some dimensional foam. I placed the Yule Log in front of my Santa and popped up the Christmas stockings on either side of the fireplace.

I added my Christmas tree with some dimensional foam also along with the package at the bottom of the tree.

Finally, the garland was added above the fireplace on the background with some liquid glue.

For some sparkle, I used a gold Uniball pen to color the star on the tree, candle flames and the buckle on Santa’s belt. I used a Red metallic TUR pen to add some accents to the bow on the package and the garland and then I used a Stardust Gelly Roll pen to add some sparkle to the fireplace. The added shimmer and shine are a fun accent.

I added 6 colors of Glitter Drop embellishments to the tree in place of colored ornaments. I love the dimension that this gives the tree, not to mention the shine.

The entire panel was added to a piece of the Dare 2B Artzy Festive Poinsettia paper trimmed to 4 ¼ x 5 1/2 and added to a side folding A2 card base made from 110lb cardstock.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment, “May your home be filled with the Magic of Christmas” and then the Merry Christmas sentiment below that.

I love this cozy scene card featuring the Cozy Fireplace and Season to be Jolly stamp and die sets. It really turned out so cute. It makes me want to curl up next to the fireplace in a comfy chair and wait for Santa.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today and are inspired to create your own cozy Christmas scenes using these stamps and dies from Dare 2B Artzy.

All of the products used in today’s card will be linked below for your convenience.
