Baking Spirits Bright with Dare 2B Artzy
Hello and welcome back!
I keep hearing on the news that we’re just a mear 120ish days until Christmas. I cannot wrap my brain around that just yet. This year has just zipped by so quickly. As much as I like to be prepared, Christmas always sneaks up on me.
The only thing that I can do is share some inspiration for making some adorable Christmas cards.
Today I am having fun with the new Baking Sweet Memories stamp and coordinating die from Dare 2B Artzy. This amazing new stamp set has 14 adorable images to color and 7 mix and match sentiments. The coordinating die cuts out all of the fun images.
For my card, I chose a card from my Color Cube as a jumping off point for my color inspiration. I chose a very non-traditional color pallet for my card, but I absolutely love how it turned out.
Using my MISTI, I stamped all of the images from the Baking Sweet Memories stamp set using Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink.
I colored all of the images using my Sketchmarker Brush Alcohol markers in shades of Raspberry, Brown and Grey. Here’s a list of all of the colors that I used: R13, R14, R20, R21, G120, G122 (leaves on the pie), TG3, TG5, SG5, BR50, BR51, BR52, BR73 and SB,
Once all my colored images were cut out, I created a background for them using the new Botanical Background die. This beautiful background greenery is so versatile and can be used for both holiday and non-holiday cards. It measures 4 x 5 ¼.
I cut the Botanical Background from some dark grey cardstock. I added 1/8-inch Redline Tape to the background and some of the leaves as well a touch of liquid glue. I then added the die cut background to some raspberry glitter cardstock cut to the same size. I love how the grey cardstock looks so dramatic against the glittery background.
For each of the colored Baking Sweet Memories images, I figured out their placement along the left side of the card. Some images were layered over other images. I ended up using the pie, measuring spoons, spatula, boy and girl gingerbread cookies, the snowflake cookie and the rolling pin. I used some dimensional foam to pop up some of the images.
I stamped the sentiment Baking and Spirits Bright onto some white cardstock and die cut them with one of the Mini Border Dies. I popped each of the sentiments up onto the card with some dimensional foam.
After I placed my sentiment on the card front, I thought the white was a little bright, so I used a detail blending brush and inked on a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges to tone back the white cardstock a bit.
I added the panel to a piece of Kraft cardstock cut to 4 ¼ x 5 ½ and mounted it to a top folding card base of the same size.
On the inside of my card, I added another piece of Kraft cardstock that I die cut using the largest Rectangle Framelets die that measured 4 x 5 ¼.
I stamped the sentiment We WHISK you a Merry Christmas with black ink. I added the die cut Whisk just above my sentiment and the oven mitt and wooden spoon to the bottom corner.
This was such a fun card to make. I absolutely adore the new Baking Sweet Memories stamp and die set. These would be perfect for making gift tags if you’re a holiday baker or if you like to give kitchen gadgets and cook wear for Christmas. Also, the stamp set could be used outside of holiday card making for Birthday’s as well since the sentiments are all purpose.
Thanks so much for stopping by. All the products used in today’s card are linked below for your convenience at no cost to you.
