Dare 2B Artzy support Ukraine HOP

Hello and welcome! Welcome to our “Support Ukraine Blog Hop”. Hop along with all of these amazing companies that are part of The Stamping Village and additional contributing companies and artists that are sharing encouragement for Ukraine. A portion of all proceeds from the Dare 2B Artzy sales now through Sunday April 3rd, 2022 will benefit the Ukraine relief efforts.

Sometimes it seems as if we are each so small and insignificant in relation to the events of the world. You may be feeling that there’s nothing we can do that will make a difference to help the people of Ukraine or stop the ongoing war but there are things we can do to show are solidarity with the Ukraine people and support their efforts.

Today we’re joining other card makers and crafters from all around the world supporting the Ukraine by sharing our card creations featuring the National Flower of Ukraine which is the Sunflower. The Sunflower is a symbol of hope and peace. The blue and yellow colors represent the National Flag of Ukraine.

My card features one of the sunflowers from the Dare 2B Artzy, Find Your Purpose stamp set which was designed by Tracy Weinzapfel.

I’ve colored my sunflower with my Copic markers in a bright, sunny yellow and given it a dark center with a mix of Copics and a Jelly Roll pens with a few touches of white.

Once colored, I cut it out and set it aside while I worked on the rest of my card.

Next, I ink blended some Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch creating an ombre blended background on some 110lb Neenah cardstock. Once finished, I used the Slim Mini Heart Background die from Dare 2B Artzy and die cut the ink blended background. This left me with an ombre background of swirls and hearts. I really think it’s so pretty.

I die cut a piece of white glitter paper using the Slim Mini Wavy Layers die and added my ink blended Mini Heart Background on top with a mix of Score-tape and liquid glue to make sure it stayed adhered since it can sometimes be tricky to glue things onto glitter paper.

For each of the little hearts that are on the background, I cut a second background from some yellow cardstock and added a little shading to the hearts with a detailed ink blending brush and some Mustard Seed Distress Ink. Each heart was added back into the background using some tiny pieces of dimensional foam to make them pop.

Using the large scalloped layer of the Slim Mini Hearts Background die, I cut that from some yellow paper that comes in the Honey Blooms paper pack. This paper has some sprigs of foliage on them and I thought they worked well. I ink blended some Mustard Seed around the edges of the scallops.

I adhered all of my layers together with some dimensional foam to give it a bit of added dimension. My colored sunflower was added to the center of the card, essentially covering the die cut area where the large center heart would be.

For my sentiment, I used the Sending Hugs sentiment stamp from the Bear Hugs stamp set. I stamped and heat embossed it with White Fine Detail embossing powder onto some dark blue cardstock. I cut it down with a flag sentiment die and trimmed it down to fit at an angle coming out from under my sunflower.

As an added touch, I used one of the blue hearts from my die cut background and added some Jelly Roll Stardust pen to it and then covered it with some Ranger Glossy Accents. I set it aside to dry overnight and then added it to my sunflower.

My entire panel was added to a mini slimline card base made from 110lb cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Please take some time and HOP through and look at all of the inspirational cards created in support of people of the Ukraine.
