Some Bunny

Hi All! I’m back with another fun card featuring some more of the new Dare 2B Artzy goodies today!

Today my card features the new Honey Bunny stamp set. This adorable stamp features two little gardener bunnies. I think that if my mom’s garden had bunnies, this is what they would look like!

I decided to try something a bit different to color my images. I wanted to try some no-line coloring. I’ve never actually created a card with no-line images before so this was a first for me.

Using my MISTI, I stamped the little bunny in the sun hat with the watering can and some of the flowers with some grey dye ink into some 100lb Canson Bristol Smooth cardstock.

I colored the images using my Kuretaki Zig Clean Color brush markers. These markers work great in conjunction with the Bristol Smooth Cardstock. If you’ve ever struggled to color with these markers, I highly recommend switching to some Bristol cardstock. I set the images aside once I was done coloring. Mostly to see if I liked the way the coloring looked. I find that if I’m not in love with something I’ve colored initially that it’s good to set it aside and come back and see how I feel later.

To prepare my card base, I cut the large slimline rectangle from the Wavy Slimline Framelets die set from some 110lb white cardstock. Next, I cut the largest and smallest wavy die from the set using some of the new papers from the Dare 2B Artzy Home Grown collection (the polka dots paper) and the Ice Cream Social collection (blue striped paper). Finally I cut the next two sizes of slimline rectangles using some more 110lb white cardstock and a piece of bright yellow cardstock from my stash.

I added all of the die cut layers of paper to a slimline card base that measures 3 ¾ x 8 1/2. I popped up two of the layers using some dimensional foam.

Once the card base and layers were assembled, I went back to look at my colored images. I decided I liked the way they looked, but added a bit more color and blended some areas a bit better with the Kuretaki Zig colorless blender. I’m happy that I didn’t scrap the images and start over.

I cut the flowers and my gardening bunny with the coordinating die set. I love that the die for the bunny cuts the hole in the handle! Such a cool detail!

I added a bit of dimensional foam to all of the images and placed them on the card panel. I like that it looks like the bunny is watering a row of flowers. It just turned out so cute!

For the sentiment, I stamped the EveryBUNNY need someBUNNY with some black ink and die cut it with the small flag die from the Wavy Slimline Framelets die set. I added it to the card panel with a bit of dimensional foam as well.  On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment, Thanks for Being There for Me with black ink.

As a finishing touch for the card, I added some green, sparkly gems with some glue all the way around my largest wavy layer and also to the sentiment banner. I also discovered that a little orange gem fit in the center of the flower on the gardeners’ hat perfectly.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card! Products I’ve used in today’s card are listed below for your convenience.
