I hope you’ve enjoyed the HOP so far and that you are as excited about the new Dare 2B Artzy products as I am to be able to share them with you.

My card features the fun new Just Chillin’ stamp set which has the adorable polar bear on the sled and several penguins.  Beyond the fact that this stamp set is so dang cute, it has many great sentiments for Christmas and New Year’s. The stamp set features 9 sentiments and the penguins can hold a  variety of things in their flippers like the balloon, wine glass, a tiny gift or even a small snowflake.

Let’s get into my card.

I stamped all of the critters onto some 110lb cardstock that is alcohol ink friendly using Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black Ink. Next, I colored all of the images with my Chroma Flagship alcohol markers. Once I was finished I cut all of my images out and set them aside.

My idea for this card was to create a snowflake factory using the new Dare 2B Artzy Slimline Gears Die. I thought this would be a bit of a different take on a holiday card using this awesome new slimline die. This intricate die cuts a background with a bunch of different shapes and sizes of gears and has a couple of open circles for stamping sentiments or placing the large gear that accompanies the die set. I actually cut the gear background from a couple of different solid and mirrored papers from my stash. I wasn’t sure what would work best and having several papers to compare looks was really handy.

I opted to use a minty-green cardstock and I used the mirrored cardstock and cut out several of the gears to add a little shimmery interest to the gears panel. I really like the look of them. The minty color gives a wonderful retro style Christmas look that I love and it paired well with the Dare 2B Artzy patterned papers.

I used the snowflake papers from the Dare 2B Artzy Frosty Chalet and Chocolate Moose paper packs. I cut two different pieces of cardstock with a different snowflake pattern on each. These measure 8 ¼ x 3 3/8.  I wanted to soften the background with the snowflakes a little so I cut a piece of vellum from my stash to match the size of the gear die cut and glued it to the back of my gears. I used a bit of Tonic glitter pen on the vellum to give it a shimmer.

I decided that I wanted a bit different paper showing through the large circle area of my slimline gears die. To do that I used my slimline gears die to line up the snowflake paper so I could draw a circle where I needed to cut a hole in the paper for the teal colored Frosty Chalet snowflake paper to show through.  I used the coordinating circle die that comes with the gears die to cut the circle from my patterned paper. I used the other small circle die from the set to cut the second smaller hole in both pieces of snowflake pattern paper so that my little penguin would have a little window to pop through and wave to everyone. I can’t get over how cute it looks!

I glued all of my background layers together and added them to a slimline card base of 110lb cardstock.

My polar bear and penguin on the sled needed some snow to go sledding on so I cut a piece of white glitter cardstock using the new Dare 2B Artzy Curve Slimline Border dies. I love that this new set has lots of options for making snowy hills or even ocean waves. The sky is the limit with this die set. I think it made a perfect snowy hill for my adorable sledding duo. I added it to the bottom of the card using some dimensional foam and popped the image up with dimensional foam as well.

Next, it wouldn’t be a snowflake factory without snowflakes being manufactured, right!? I figured that the large circle would be the perfect spot to add a glittery white die cut snowflake from the new Slimline Snowflake Die set. I die cut the large snowflake twice and glued it together and placed it in the circle on top of the vellum. I added a ring of mirrored cardstock and a red cardstock around the snowflake to create a focal point for it. The Slimline Snowflake die set is stunning and I can’t wait to play some more with it in future cards.

Finally I added the penguin holding a green balloon with some dimensional foam and die cut a piece of red matte metallic cardstock using the small banner die from the Curve Slimline Border Die and  then stamped the sentiment Bringing You Joy and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

For a finishing touch I added some teeny tiny shimmery stars confetti that I upcycled from a card someone sent me and some gems to my card front.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my wintery snowflake factory featuring the Dare 2B Artzy Just Chillin’ stamp sent and all of the fun new slimline die sets.
