Hope everyone is finding lots of inspiration in today’s hop. There’s so many new and amazing Dare 2B Artzy goodies to share, hope you’re enjoying it so far.

My card features the adorable April Showers stamp set and the cute little girl in her rain boots, or wellies (if you’re from England). She also has a cute umbrella.

The great thing about the new stamps is that many of them also coordinate with the new 12 x 12 paper packs and the new dies are even sized to cut out images from the paper in some cases which makes putting together a coordinating card a breeze.

I stamped the images onto some 80 lb Neenah white cardstock cut to 3 1/8 x 4 ¾.

Next, I colored the adorable little girl and the flower with my Copics and then added a bit more detail and shading with my Chameleon colored pencils and a bit of Gamisol. Also, I did add some white polka dots to her rain boots with a white jelly roll pen and I used a Spectrum Noir clear glitter brush pen on the umbrella and the flower to add a bit of sparkle.

Before I could work on the background of my card panel, I needed to create a mask for my images that I’d colored. To do that I stamped all images again on a 4 x 6 Avery removable multi-use label sheet. I find that for larger images, this works really well for creating masks and you can pick them up at your local office supply store.

Once all my images were stamped on the removable label, I fussy cut them out and placed them over top of the images I’d just finished coloring making sure that the entire image was covered.

Next, I used some cloud border dies I had in my stash and cut them on a piece of 110 lb Neenah Solar White cardstock to create a stencil. I used the stencil, moving it up a bit with each pass and sponged on a navy blue in the foreground very lightly so it wouldn’t be too dark. As I moved my stencil, I switched colors to a purple and then the lightest blue to create a stormy sky. Then in the upper left corner, I came in with some yellow to make it appear as though the sun was just starting to peek through the clouds. I really like the look of the finished clouds.

For my sentiment, I used some Versamark and stamped the sentiment from April Showers stamp set that reads, “Thanks for Brightening my Day”.  I heat set the sentiment using some pretty navy embossing powder.

Next, I thought it would be pretty to spritz the finished panel with some Tattered Angels, Glimmer Mist in Tin Can color. It’s kind of a silvery-lavender. Of course, it didn’t turn out quite as I’d hoped so there’s a bit of a grey-ish mist on the colored card front, but I guess that just adds to the rainy day feel of the card.

Of course, as any dedicated crafter does I continued with my card because as Bob Ross would say, “We don’t make mistakes – just happy little accidents.”  LOL!

I cut a piece of the new, fabulous plaid paper from the Dare 2B Artzy, Summertime Petals Paper Pack to 4 ¼ x 5 ¼ and adhered my colored images to the patterned paper. Both were added to a top folding 110lb card base made from some Neenah Solar White cardstock.

I added a few clear dew drops with some liquid glue to the finished card front for a bit of added dimension.
