I am so excited about today’s Blog Hop because I get to share with you the cutest turtle ever!
The idea of a Quilted Turtle just tugged at my heart strings because my husbands grandmother makes stunning quilts. She made a beautiful quilt out of my wedding dress which is a cherished treasure for me.
Quilts bring to mind warmth, beauty, art, love and each one is unique just like this new stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy called Quilted Turtle.
I started off by stamping the turtle with the new Totally Black hybrid ink pad from Dare 2B Artzy and then used some warm greys from my Copic markers to color the head and feet.
I wanted to make a patchwork quilt of the turtle’s shell so I stamped the little turtle several times on various patterned papers and fussy cut them and glued them on to create the unique shell.
Once everything was dry I fussy cut the turtle and found a little blue button to use for his eye to add some dimension.
I used the same technique on the heart and paper pieced one section of the heart using some patterned paper and colored the rest using my Copics. I also fussy cut the heart and attached it to the end of a tag I had stamped and heat embossed my sentiment, “A friend is worth a thousand stitches.”.
My card is layered together with various papers in neutral, blue and red colors to pair with my quilt pattern on my turtle. The gorgeous red cardstock is from the beautiful new line of papers called Artzy Doodles from Dare 2B Artzy.
I added some red buttons as embellishment and to give added dimension and interest to the card.
Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop in the hop is Tracy’s blog!
We hope you are inspired all along the way!

This card turned out so great! Super idea doing multiple stampings to create the fussy cut quilted turtle shell. Everything coordinates so well & I love how you used the buttons to tie in the stitching/sewing theme. ♡ Enjoyed looking at your other cards & artwork too.
